These following fields of information are available on each record within TRAC's database covering federal civilian employees.
Information Fields

Fiscal Year Fiscal Year ending September 30th

Employee Name Employee Name Appearing on Payroll (as of September 30)

Combined Department/Agency Code Combined Department and Agency Codes (list of codes)

District Federal Judicial District (list of codes) (map)

FIPS Code State and county FIPS code. The state FIPS code is represented by the first two numbers in the code while the county is represented by the last three. (list of codes)

GSA Code GSA Code for City or Place (list of codes)

Occupation Category One of six classes of employees used by the Office of Personnel Management [A=administrative, P=professional, T=technical, C=clerical, B=blue collar, O=other].

Specific Occupation Specific Occupation (white collar codes) (blue collar codes)

Work Schedule Work Schedule Type (list of codes)

Supervisory Status Supervisory or Management Type (list of codes)

Pay Plan Pay Plan Type (list of codes)

Grade Employee Grade (ranking from low to high 1-15 for the General Schedule, varies for others)

Step Step within Grade (ranking from low to high 1-10)

Salary Type Type of salary recorded in salary field (A=annual amount, H=hourly rate)
